Informative Speech

You will present a four minute speech which will INFORM your audience about your topic.  The informative speech is based on facts concerning a topic that is significant to the audience.  The speech should have a fully developed introduction, body, and conclusion with smooth transitions.  The body of your speech should contain three main points.  The main points should include supporting material from AT LEAST THREE documented sources, i.e. books, articles, interviews, etc.  All three sources should be evident in the speech.  A typed, bibliography should be provided at the same time you turn in your outline to me to be graded.  Be sure to reference where you obtained the information or it is plagiarism!  The style of the speech is extemporaneous.

Flash cards should only contain the information that is on you key-word/phrase outline.  They are not turned in to me.  I TRUST you will put ONLY the information contained on your key-word/phrase outline on your cards!

Visual aids are not required; however, they can be used.  Please refer to the visual aid chapter in your book if you plan to use a visual aid as the are “right” and “wrong” ways a visual aid can be presented.
