write a summary of 1,500–3,000 words explaining to upper management the chosen multivariate technique

Scenario

WidgeCorp became the market leader in snack foods after acquiring a rival company, Company W. Their management style and business decision-making differed. Employees at WidgeCorp collected relevant data and through statistical analysis used this information to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Company W tended to rely on the experience and judgment of its managers. For the time being, both companies are being managed separately, but within the next twelve months they will merge all management, processes, and accounting. You work for Company W and are a little nervous about this new way of working, but realize that you need to be able to present issues and recommendations with statistical verification to the WidgeCorp executives. You will also introduce and employ statistical analysis to the senior management of Company W’s various departments such as Marketing, Sales, and Production. Part of your job will be to educate Company W as well.

Weekly tasks or assignments (Individual or Group Projects) will be due by Monday, and late submissions will be assigned a late penalty in accordance with the late penalty policy found in the syllabus. NOTE: All submission posting times are based on midnight Central Time.

A high-end market research firm has contacted your boss and is trying to sell some business to your organization. Upper management does not want to appear incompetent, so they have asked you to research and explain three major ways multivariate statistics are used in a business.

Small Group Discussion

Research the library, and provide at least 1 example of how a real company has used each of the following multivariate techniques: factor analysis, multidimensional scaling, and cluster analysis. Companies that provide statistics software Web sites and market research firm Web sites usually include case studies and customer testimonials.

Read the postings of all group members, and decide as a group which technique is preferred by the group and which example best illustrates the use of this technique.

Use the Small-Group Discussion Board for your comments.

Individual Portion

For the individual portion of this project, on your own, write a summary of 1,500–3,000 words explaining to upper management the chosen multivariate technique, how it is different from the other 2 techniques, how at least 1 other real-life company has used this technique to address a business problem, and how that technique might be used at your own organization

Multiple regression analysis is widely used in business research in order to forecast and predict pu Show more Multiple regression analysis is widely used in business research in order to forecast and predict purposes. It is also used to determine what independent variables have an influence on dependent variables such as sales. Sales can be attributed to quality customer service and location. In multiple regression analysis we can determine which independent variable contributes the most to sales; it could be quality or customer service or location. Now consider the following scenario. You have been assigned the task of creating a multiple regression equation of at least three variables that explains Microsofts annual sales. Use a time series of data of at least 10 years. You can search for this data using the Internet. Before running the regression analysis predict what sign each variable will be and explain why you made that prediction. Run three simple linear regressions by considering one independent variable at a time After running each of the three linear regressions interpret the regression. Does the regression fit the data well? Run a multiple regression using all three independent variables. Interpret the multiple regression. Does the regression fit the data well? Does each predictor play a significant role in explaining the significance of the regression? Are some predictors not useful? If so did you consider removing those and rerunning the regression? Are the predictors related too significantly to one another? What is the coefficient of correlation r? Do you think this r value suggests a strong correlation among the predictors ( the independent variables? Show less

Freedom in Huckleberry Finn Research Papers

Freedom in Huckleberry Finn Research Papers
Freedom in Huckleberry Finn research papers show the symbolism of the raft in Huck and Jim’s adventure.
Freedom in Huckleberry Finn research papers examine Mark Twain’s classic. The focus on freedom in the novel can make for an excellent project on American Literature and how it relates to this fundamental element in American society.
Freedom is a central motif of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Freedom in Huckleberry Finn research papers show that the motif is twofold.

One aspect of it is Huck’s desire to get away from the attempts of his female caretakers to civilize him.
The other aspect of the twofold motif is Jim’s slavery.

This aspect of the motif of freedom is related mostly to the journey of Huck and Jim down the Mississippi River and the symbolism of the raft in Huckleberry Finn as a symbol of freedom.
The raft is the primary symbol of this aspect of the motif. And in a way, the wide, winding Mississippi River carrying the raft is like a stream of freedom for Huck and Jim. Every time the two have to make land, usually for provisions, they are in danger of becoming entangled in the feuds, crimes, or chicanery of individuals they run into. Also, Jim is in danger of being captured as a runaway slave.

Freedom and Jim
Whereas the freedom represented by the raft is an idealized, almost boundless, freedom, Jim’s bondage and the freedom implied by it which is not granted to him is a more concrete type of freedom. As a slave, Jim is not free to go about the ordinary routines of his daily life. As a slave, Jim is literally property of the person who owns him. Miss Watson, who had taken Huck into her home to try to reform him, was considering selling Jim to someone down south for eight hundred dollars. Jim’s flight from her and subsequent linking up with Huck is the basis for their friendship and raft trip down the Mississippi which are the basis for the novel.

The company has just observed the first quarter of demand D1 = 6000 and would like to update its forecast for each of the next four quarters using α = β = γ = .4. b. When demand is observed for the second quarter, it is D2 = 15,000. How much error is there in the forecast? c. Update the forecasts again for the coming year, using the second-quarter demand data.

What are the potential ethical issues that researchers may face when conducting public health research targeting vulnerable populations?

Question
he Case of Hurricane Katrina

The diversity movement suggests that our differences should not have economic, social, or political consequences and that we should be entitled to the same access to resources and opportunities regardless of our differences. However, the human suffering resulting from Hurricane Katrina and the images of victims have stimulated a debate about differential access to resources.

Using the South University Online Library or the Internet, research about the differential treatment and access to resources. Based on your research, create a 3- to 4-page report in a Microsoft Word document that includes answers to the following questions:

What are the potential ethical issues that researchers may face when conducting public health research targeting vulnerable populations?
What are the specific vulnerable groups that are potentially at risk as a result of the disaster? Why?
What are the specific strategies that you would propose to ensure equity? Explain.
What are the strategies that you would recommend to prevent potential human rights violations? Explain.
Support your responses with examples.

Cite any sources in APA format.

Describe at least 1 device used for IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi data acquisition (DAQ) that can stream the acquired data to investigators and perform remote acquisition for use by investigators

As a part of a weekly networking group discussion, there have been issues raised from several of the corporate security and incident response professionals that the acquisition process for digital wireless evidence from a network is not understood fully and that training and discussion of these topics are needed, with special emphasis on acquisition and not the analysis or examination of the evidence.

Describe at least 1 device used for IEEE 802.11 Wi-Fi data acquisition (DAQ) that can stream the acquired data to investigators and perform remote acquisition for use by investigators.
Use APA format in the main body of the Discussion Board post to support any technical assertions supported by references, including the actual reference in APA format.

Respond to at least 2 other students and their postings to ensure that the topics are expanded technically.
